The Tramlines Music Festival Coming to Sheffield in July

The annual Tramlines Music Festival is coming to Sheffield 22-24 July 2016. This is one of the largest and best received music festivals in the Sheffield area and it attracts tens of thousands of people every year. If you are planning to attend this year's Tramlines Music Festival, below is a look at some information that can help you plan the perfect weekend.

Entertainers and Venues

The Tramlines Music Festival includes live performances from dozens of local and national bands, such as George Clinton Parliament Funkadelic, Dizzee Rascal, The Dandy Warhols, Catfish and the Bottlemen, Jurassic 5, Kelis, Norma Jay McB, and many more. These performances are held at a variety of locations throughout the Sheffield area, including City Hall, Fusion, Millennium Gallery, Plug, Sheffield Cathedral, Queens Social Club, The Harley, The Octagon, The Night Kitchen, and more. You can find a full lineup of festival performers and venues at Tramlines' official website.

Tramlines Music Festival Tickets

Tickets should be purchased in advance, because they sell out fast. You should also keep in mind that just because you have a ticket, doesn't guarantee you entry into every venue. Once the venue is filled to capacity, no one else can enter. This makes it crucial that you arrive early to the venue, or venues of your choice. There are a variety of tickets available for the Tramlines Music Festival, including:

· Full Weekend Ticket - £42

(gives you full access to both daytime and evening concerts, except Sunday closing parties)

· Daytime Ticket - £32

(gives you access to all daytime events on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday)

· Club Ticket - £20

(gives you access to evening performances at various clubs and warehouses on Friday and Saturday night)

· Single Day Ticket - £23

(gives access to all performances prior to 10:30pm on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday, excluding the Sunday closing parties)

· Sunday Closing Parties Ticket - £5

(can be added to any ticket to give access to all Sunday evening after parties)

· Children Under 12 Ticket - £0

(tickets are free of charge, but still must be ordered in advance of the festival)

Wristband Exchange

Festival attendees must start by exchanging their tickets for a festival wristband. When you purchase your ticket, you will be able to select your pickup location at either City Hall, Ponderosa, or Folk Forest. Wristbands must be picked up in person at your specific pickup location. You will not be able to pick up wristbands for your friends or family members.

Places to Stay

If you are visiting Sheffield for the festival, you will need to find a place to stay. There are various options available for your short stay, including hotels, bed and breakfast establishments, and serviced apartments. While each option has its own set of pros and cons, self catering accommodations provide you with the added convenience of making your own meals. Whereas, if you stay at a hotel, you will have to rely on local restaurants for your meals, which can be very expensive and very busy, with everyone in town for the festival. Self serviced apartments can help you save both time and money.

Being prepared prior to the festival can ensure that you have a great time. This includes purchasing your tickets, planning your schedule, booking your self catering apartment in Sheffield, and knowing where and when to pick up your wristbands.
